London X City is an online magazine that focuses on all things London and beyond. With the recent heatwaves having hit the United Kingdom, after one of the longest and harshest winters many people can remember, they have announced that they have listed the 10 hottest days of 2018. Additionally, they are taking a look at the events and activities that will take place in the upcoming summer months.

Chloe, spokesperson for London X City, says: "The winter was absolutely terrible. We had snow right into April and people felt like there was going to be no end to it. However, seemingly from one day to the next, it finally got warmer and the UK was basking in sunshine again. Those who want to read more about the upcoming sunny days can visit the Londox X City website."

The United Kingdom is known to always compare its temperatures to what is always on record. This year, the hottest marathon on record took place, with an average temperature of 23.5 degrees Celsius. This sparked warnings across the country, as there was some concern that runners might succumb to the heat. Instead, different records were broken, with Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge finishing in 2 hours, 4 minutes and 17 seconds, one minute slower than the current world record. Meanwhile, Olympian Mo Farrah finished third. London X City's Chloe says: "Mo is our national hero and we are so proud of the fact that he did so well in his new chosen sport, despite it being the hottest marathon on record."

The day of the London Marathon was the hottest in 70 years, and similar records have already been broken since. In fact, the second half of May has also been one of the hottest on record, with the north of the country in particular enjoying wall to wall sunshine. People are encouraged to find out about the various festivals and other activities that will be happening across the country in the summer. Festivals such as Lost in the Woods and Willowman in the North East of the country have already almost sold out.

Those interested in finding out more about upcoming summer events are encouraged to pay a visit to www.londonxcity.com.
