Culpeper Toastmasters, based in Culpeper, VA, is proud to announce the launch of a new Leadership Development Workshop. It will be hosted by Toastmasters International and sponsored jointly by the Northern Piedmont Toastmasters and Culpeper Toastmasters clubs. The event will take place on April 29, 2018 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Bealeton Depot at Bealeton Library, 10877 Willow Drive North, Bealeton, VA 22712. Sue Worden, Vice President of Education, says: "Leaders influence and inspire group members and motivate followers to achieve a mission or goal. They have power. This educational workshop explores the qualities, values and styles effective leaders display and helps participants identify their own leadership style and determine the team's leadership needs."
The event will have several parts. During the first part, leadership exercises will be held to help attendants determine their leadership style and their team's leadership need. It will also be an opportunity to discuss leadership gaps and matches. The second part of the event, which will start at 3:15 pm, will be dedicated to developing leadership skills.
Effective leaders must be able to accept and overcome challenges, while remaining a positive influence and role model. The workshops will enable people to help their team members function more productively and with higher quality. Skills and techniques will be shown that all effective leaders require, including coaching, motivation, team building, and contracting for excellence.
Workshops will be held during which attendants can discuss personal fulfillment, contracts, and motivation. They will also be coached to improve performance. For each workshop, workbooks will be made available and those can be kept for future reference.
The event is free to attend, but spaces are limited.
