Manhattan Beach resident and Cancer Journeys Foundation President Robert Hess announced the inaugural Tour de USA® road rally as a way to dramatically reduce America’s annual prostate cancer death toll.

Said Hess, “Prostate cancer claims the lives of almost 28,000 American men every year because these men don’t know they have the disease in time for effective treatment. The mission of the 2018 Tour de USA® is to make certain men know about the prostate cancer risk (one in seven men will have the disease) and about the Foundation’s simple prostate cancer risk awareness tool, ProstateTracker App.”

The Tour de USA® begins on August 15, 2018 and ends back in Los Angeles. People all across the US can drive a segment of the Tour de USA® as it comes through their state. Event details are available on the Tour de USA® website at https://TourdeUSA.Events.

“We’re really excited about the Tour de USA®,” said Hess. “It’s going to be a fantastic adventure. We’ll be driving some great roads and helping to end prostate cancer. We have company sponsorships available and individuals also can fundraise. We are actively looking for a host for our “Start Your Engines” launch here in Los Angeles. Interested companies can contact me directly.”

About the Cancer Journeys Foundation

“A cancer diagnosis and treatment. At the end of their medical treatment, cancer survivors are pretty much on their own. Survivors need the tools to develop survivorship plans they can follow going forward. Nutrition and exercise are key elements in quality of life and that’s why this conference is so important,” according to Hess.

The Cancer Journeys Foundation is creating a comprehensive digital information center for cancer survivors, their families, and caregivers. The Foundation is developing a nationwide network of walking programs to support America’s 12 million cancer survivors in their journeys.
