Cruvina, providers of shatterproof plastic glasses, announces that their wine glasses have been designed without a stem.
A typical wine glass consists of three basic parts: the bowl, the stem, and the foot. While the fundamental shape of all wine glasses is essentially the same, each of these three parts is varied in the many different designs available for wine glasses. These designs were developed over time to accommodate the different types of wine, such as red, white, rosé, sparkling and fortified sweet wine. The basic theory behind this is that the shape of the bowl, and in particular, the size of the opening, controls the delivery of the aroma compounds to the nose as well as the experience of the texture of the wine as it is sipped.
Co-Founder Erin Moore says, "In going over the information, we decided that there must be a basic design that would allow our customers to enjoy any type of wine without having to become an expert on wine glasses or having to spend a lot of money on collecting all the different types of glasses. It needed to be attractive and feel nice in the hand. Also, we wanted the glass to be functional, meaning that it could be used safely in any setting - both indoors and out."
After lengthy research and much trial and error the developers at Cruvina came up with an elegant bowl-shaped design. The stem was eliminated and the base was further strengthened to prevent tipping. The spill-guard rim makes sipping the wine easy. To enhance durability, the glass was designed out of Tritan plastic, a high-quality, food-grade, BPA-free polymer made by Eastman. This plastic has a high level of clarity so that it looks like “real” glass. The glass retains its clarity and shine through repeated use and can stand up to being washed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Cruvina customers are very pleased with the quality of the wine glasses. Here is what one had to say: “I absolutely love these new Cruvina wine glasses! I had a problem with traditional wine glasses falling and breaking when trying to put them in or taking them out of the dish strainer to dry. Not anymore. These stemless glasses solved that problem and are very nice looking. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and am very happy with these. They look like real glass and don't have a big ugly seam like other stemless plastic glasses. I would definitely recommend them.”
The Cruvina Wine Glass Set contains four reusable 13-ounce glasses. It is available on Amazon for $24.97 and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
