Cancer Journeys Foundation, based in Manhattan Beach, CA, is proud to announce that Foundation President Robert Hess has been appointed to the 2018 Board of Governors of the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives (NANOE). This came after he was nominated by the committee for being a subject matter expert. As part of his role, he will strengthen, improve, and refine the new governing guidelines to improve capacity building in nonprofit organizations. Details are available on the Cancer Journeys Foundation website at www.cancerjourneysfoundation.org.
Robert Hess himself says: "I am delighted to accept this role because the nonprofit sector is critically important to so many aspects of American society. In addition to providing community support services not available through the government, the public sector has over 10% of all employed workers in the country."
The Cancer Journeys Foundation provides a comprehensive digital information center for cancer survivors, their families, and caregivers. The foundation's goal is to provide the tools and what community cancer survivors need in order to have the best possible quality of life, and find joy and peace as they move through their cancer journeys.
Meanwhile, NANOE, as shown on their website at www.nanoe.org, is a nationwide network of nonprofit executives who design heroic missions of scale that solve vital community problems. NANOE is the culmination of a multi-year effort by administrators, donors, academicians and volunteers from Clemson University and the National Development Institute.
Meanwhile, the Society for Nonprofits, with website at https://www.snpo.org, has also welcomed Robert Hess' appointment. They feel that he is the right candidate for what is set to be a challenging position and role and believe that he will be able to make a positive difference. Robert Hess states: "I don't believe in reinventing the wheel, but I do believe there is room for significant improvement across the board. I hope that, through cooperation with NANOE and its members, we can see a real improvement in the working conditions of nonprofit employees, and also in the impact that their work has on society as a whole. And I will start that at the leadership level."
The Cancer Journeys Foundation provides support to the 14 million cancer survivors in the United States and their families and care givers as they move through their individual cancer journeys.
