In the post, he provides various pointers on how to identify the customers to focus on, by using certain factors such as demographic profile, lifestyle, and attitudes.

This starts by determining whether the customer is a business or a consumer. He points out that if the marketing required is business to business, this requires a different approach and it is usually more difficult to sell to a business. This is because it is often harder to identify the person who will be making the decision to purchase.
Marko explains that there are three types of people who could become the target audience. The first one is the person who will be paying. The second one is the person who will benefit from the product or service but can influence the one who will pay. The third one is someone who supports the product or service but is not the one who will be paying for it. The first type is the one to focus on, and the characteristics of this person can be made more specific by examining his or her demographic profile, lifestyle and attitudes.
Marko adds: "When you really know your target audience it helps you to keep the marketing message very clear and concise. You get better sales conversions. And you can even establish your entire brand around the target customer to really hone in your message."
