London X City Website Covers Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival is a yearly street festival, and the biggest of its kind in Europe. The London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust organizes it, starting each event with the Panorama on Saturday evening. This is a free event in which national steel bands compete deep into the night. On Sunday morning, people can participate in the J'Ouvert, which is when the event really kicks off. This procession takes off before sunrise, and all participants are covered in mud, which is a traditional celebration of the start of the carnival itself. Another key element of the Notting Hill Carnival is the "World Music Stage", where soca and calypso performances are held, organized by the Association of British Calypsonians and joined by a range of other artists.
