Film streaming is an inevitable part of the future of Films, says a Group of Film Experts. The Experts are reporting that many films around the world are developing film streaming apps that could shape the future of the industry.

“From London to New York, Perth to Tokyo, we have noted a similar trend when it comes to screening movies. Theaters are developing apps to attract non-regulars to view movies back at home. The apps created are being used for film streaming services, especially to young people that no longer have the zeal to watch movies at theaters,” Tyson Jordan, the company’s CEO notes.

According to Fred Daniel, a film expert, the rise of film streaming services is triggered by several factors. Fred says that the fact that anyone gets to pick the movie they want to watch is one reason for the apps’ popularity. Unlike theaters, Fred notes that a film streaming app does not have movies that please everyone. Instead, the streaming services have movies for adults, children friendly movies and films for every member in the family.

“Among the people we interviewed for this research, 60% said that the freedom to choose the movie to watch as the main reason they accepted using film streaming channels-both legal and illegal. Up to 50% of the respondents said that the fact that they got to watch new movies the same day theaters released them as a reason they embraced film streaming services,” Fred says.

There are several other reasons for the rise in film streaming according to research. In one study done at a California college-the overwhelming popularity of Netflix and other legal online film streaming networks have given the trend a boost. Netflix which offers film streaming services to different demographics has inspired the birth of other streaming networks. The conservative nature of some legal film streaming networks has also been credited for inspiring the creation of illegal film streaming networks. Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, for instance once noted that the modern theater is occupied by different audiences who will probably have different ideas about the movies that should be screened.

In the report released by the film experts, theaters are however not likely to get obsolete in the near future. Theaters are traditionally known to offer an exceptional film viewing experience, and film streaming services may never take that benefit away. In addition, most film streaming services are illegal, provide low quality films or just lack the type of movies that theaters offer.

Another trend noted by the film experts is overlapping of roles among professionals who work in the film industry. According to Fred, it is common to find a director who staunchly deals with films for TV making content for film streaming videos. Actors and media personalities have also been working for multiple mediums, most notably since the birth of YouTube.
