Premiumwarezstore.com, an online retailer of premium products, has released a study that shows how mothers are more interested in their children’s reading behaviors more than fathers. The study, released recently, shows that up to 95% of mothers with young children are engaged with their children when it comes to reading more often than the men do.

According to the website’s spokesperson, more than 80% of women with children aged below 10 years said that helping their children read books was one of their most important jobs at home. The study also shows that 75% of men are engaged with their children’s reading habits. 90% of the men also said that reading and writing were important for their children, especially for men who had children aged 6 years and below.

“What we found in our research is that the modern parents are interested in their child’s academic life, but the mother is more engaged in ensuring the kids actually read,” says Bridget Jones, the spokesperson at Premiumwarezstore.com.

Similar to the results found by premiumwarezstore.com, a study done in Washington in 2013, found out that women had a bigger attachment to libraries and reading than men did. The study showed that not only did mothers show interest in helping their kids read and write, they also consumed a lot of reading materials for their own.

Jenin Tyson, a mother of a four year old son and a customer at Premiumwarezstore.com says that reading had become an important part of her life since having her son. Jenin also says that she had gained interest in helping her son read, more often than her husband and father to the son did.

“Since having my son, I read books more often. I read books to learn how to carry out first aid and to learn about children’s behaviors. I have also started introducing my son to books. I want him to love reading books right now when he is young, so that he can grow up loving to read,” Jenin says.

The study done at Premiumwarezstore.com also revealed that the types of books women introduced their kids were sometimes different from what fathers introduced their children to. According to the company’s study, mothers gave their sons and daughters books meant to improve reading and enhance the kids’ understanding of their environments. On the other hand, fathers who bought books for older children often bought books about superheroes.
