Pinnacle Tax Advisory in Brighton, Michigan, has announced it will begin teaching an upcoming series of educational classes and seminars. The series is entitled Flip the Switch on your Taxes and is designed to help consumers to understand their taxation options during retirement.

Andrew Perri, President of Pinnacle Wealth Management and Tim Wessel of Pinnacle Tax Advisory say that they plan to host the monthly workshops beginning in May 2017. "We will be offering this program through a local community college to promote adult education," says Perri. Tim Wessel, the Director of Tax & Business Planning will be teaching this informative series of classes and seminars.

Perri reminds us, “There are 2 tax systems in this country, one for the informed and another for the un-informed, be part of the INFORMED group by attending one of our events upcoming events”.

This announcement is planned as we pass our Federal Tax Freedom Day which was April 23rd, 2017 this year. This day represents the day when our country has earned the income necessary to pay the entire annual tax burden. This means that 113 days or approximately 1/3 of our earnings for the year cover the tax burden. Americans will spend more on taxes than they do on food, clothing and housing combined in 2017. This date does not take into consideration the Federal deficit that continues to climb. If you aren’t sure about the rising national debt visit http://www.usdebtclock.org/ and you will see it happening in real time.

Taxes are and will continue to be a real cost to all of our lives and the goal of Pinnacle Tax Advisory is to help educate citizens on how to best navigate the burden while planning for retirement. "Please join us for an educational event and seminar," says Wessel. "This is more than a fun and fabulous class, it's a true Retirement Income Tax course.” One can learn how to protect one's family's retirement assets that were worked hard to accumulate and learn how to take advantage of the tools that Congress has already provided. The seminar is informational and educational only. The information presented helps provide a simple understanding of the generally applicable rules.

“For many of our clients, taxes are the biggest single line-item expense they face in retirement.” Wessel tells us “This is far too important of an issue in retirement not to have a proactive tax plan in place.” He also reminds consumers that tax regulations change from time to time. Individuals and families will want to seek out and work with a holistic team of professionals that are fully qualified to help them understand taxation options during retirement.

"In my particular case, we are that team," Wessel states. "There's no reason in the world why you would want to pay taxes that you are not legally and morally obligated to pay. We want the community to know that if you are looking to get some help, we are able to assist you with your decision making process. We have deep relationships with people because we make sure everything is above board in a pro-active and client centered approach – we make sure your tax and financial plans are fully integrated to help give you confidence over the long term."

Wessel says that the classes and seminars will teach consumers how to build a tax-free inheritance for their grandchildren, support their church or favorite charity, how to utilize long term care insurance effectively and how to retire early without paying penalties. He says that real life examples will be given to show individual’s retirement income tax savings events. For example, one in which a couple saved more than $504,000 in income taxes on their IRA during retirement and many others.

The event is a series of innovative and creative tax advantaged solutions designed to empower individuals with relevant tools by focusing on the reduction of taxes before and during retirement.
