Beaverton, Oregon based company, iProven, has launched an innovative new medical thermometer that will help parents and patients to better communicate with their physicians. The company states that its new product is a smart ear thermometer with cloud data connection option.

"Thermometers are often used for people in a medical treatment that have to take their temperature regularly, sometimes even several times a day," says Lorianne Hubers with iProven. "To get that data to medical professionals can sometimes be a laborious process."

Therefore, iProven has developed a solution which is the combination of an ear thermometer and a mobile app. The company has pointed out that medical cloud solutions have become more and more integrated into home medical care as consumers strive to reduce costs and increase efficiency with regards to their overall care. iProven already has high quality thermometers available in the market, although the move into the cloud ready devices is relatively new.

"We got a request from an organization in healthcare hardware and we found out that this solution will add value to a large group of people," says Arjan Smit, head of R/D of iProven. "We developed our app to function very simply for elderly people as well. There is no need for fancy functions that distract from what the device should do. Speed, a step by step approach and ease of use were the three primary outcomes of this thermometer and mobile app."

The smart ear thermometer features a Bluetooth capability to allow it to communicate with a smartphone. The company states that the thermometer has been clinically tested and is both FDA and CE approved for use by consumers. The thermometer, which can be purchased on the Amazon marketplace, comes with the needed mobile phone app for iPhone. Meanwhile, an app for Android will be released in December 2016. The app can be downloaded and used to flawlessly transfer temperature data between the thermometer and a mobile device, which makes it ready to connect with medical professionals or personal health monitoring cloud solutions.

Those interested in learning more about this innovative new ear thermometer can visit the company on their website or their Amazon seller's page.
