Landon Outreach Foundation, founded by Landon Plastic Surgery, is visiting Hillsborough and Pasco Schools in October & November to provide free new sneakers and socks to students in need.
Landon Plastic Surgery, a practice located in the Tampa, Florida area, has a long history of contributing to the community, not just with distinguished reconstructive and plastic surgery care, but also with its Landon Outreach Foundation. Dr. Landon and his wife share a passion for giving back to their community, something they accomplish by partnering with local businesses and charities. Bill Currie Ford of Tampa is teaming up with Landon Outreach Foundation and helping to put Sneakers on Students with their $1000 donation.
“Sneakers on Students” is an upcoming annual event organized by Landon Outreach Foundation to provide free, brand new sneakers and socks to students in need. Footwear is a critical piece of every child’s wardrobe that makes a personal fashion statement, allows for active participation in sports, and protects against harsh weather and rough surfaces.
Since many children come from households that cannot afford to purchase new footwear on a regular basis, Landon Outreach Foundation hopes to improve the self-esteem and safety of these elementary students by providing them with their own new shoes. Something as simple as a pair of nice shoes and socks can help children feel more included and comfortable at school.
“Sneakers on Students” is an especially relevant charity in Hillsborough & Pasco County since 186 schools receive federal funding due to a large number of students in need. It only takes $10.00 to buy one pair of shoes and socks for a child. It’s a small investment, but it can transform the life of a child who struggles each day in ripped and worn down shoes.
