TheProductLawyers.com reports on severe side effects associated with Xarelto.

According to WebMD, side effects associated with Xarelto are mostly severe and can range from common to rare in their frequency. The most common severe side effect associated with Xarelto is hemorrhaging. Hemorrhaging occurs when a substantial amount of blood escapes from a blood vessel. Hemorrhages usually result from either a severe blow to the body or from medication being taken for something else. Other side effects listed as severe but infrequent include abnormal liver function tests, collection of clotted blood in an organ, pace or tissue and feeling faint.

Xarelto, which was approved by the FDA in 2011, is a blood-thinning drug used for people with atrial fibrillation who are at an increased risk of forming a blood clot in the heart, which can travel to the brain or other parts of the body. The drug has been the subject of several warnings by the FDA since.

Side effects are the driving force behind why many patients have opted to file lawsuits against manufacturers AG Bayer and Johnson & Johnson. Plaintiffs have not only claimed that these side effects are life-threatening but have also alleged that these companies were negligent in the marketing and sale of the products because of the lack of an antidote. The drug currently has no FDA-approved reversal agent to combat the risk of uncontrolled bleeding.

"Our lawsuits allege that the manufacturers failed to warn our clients about the severe side effects from which our clients suffered while taking the drug," said attorney Laurence Banville, a contributor to the Xarelto litigation updates on TheProductLawyers.com. "We are speaking with families who have had brain bleeds, gastrointestinal bleeds, vaginal bleeding, and bleeding from trauma where hospitalization and extreme measures were taken by medical staff to help save the patient's life,” Banville continued. "We look forward to fighting for the rights of our clients and pursuing just compensation for the injuries and hospitalization."

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-478-9711.
