Some 28.8 million vehicles were affected by the original recall. However, some 17 different makes of vehicles were added to this recently. As a result, a further 35 to 40 million vehicles could be affected by it. The new list has been released by the government and Butler Auto Recycling has immediately checked whether their auto parts Milton FL services were listed there or not, removing any airbags that could be affected.
"It is important that people understand just how dangerous the Takata airbag is," adds Jim Butler. "It can inflate with far too much force, which means metal pieces can break off and fly through the vehicle. To date, 11 people have died as a result of this and, worldwide, there have been over 100 injuries as well."
