Valantine Family practice, located in St. George, Utah recently hired a new dental hygienist, Stephanie Hurst.
Dr. Matthew Valantine has been practicing family dentistry in Southern Utah for 25 years. He has provided a wide variety of dental services such as general procedures, root canals, orthodontics (Invisalign), and wisdom teeth extraction.
Dr. Valantine said that his goal is to deliver outstanding treatments and services for his growing practice. The decision to hire a new dental hygienist, Stephanie Hurst, came as a result of it.
Hurst, native to St. George Utah, graduated from Dixie State University with Bachelor of Dental Hygiene in 2016. But in spite of her young age, she is not new in a dental field.
During her school years, Stephanie worked at Dr. Valantine’s office as the dental assistant and mastered crucial skills that are so important for a dental hygienist. She assisted the dentist in chair side four-handed dentistry procedures including cleanings, fillings, veneers, crowns, root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafts, and implants.
Dr. Valantine said, “Stephanie is a great addition to our growing practice. With her help, we will be able to provide high quality and a wide variety of dental services, and better accommodate our patients’ needs. Our office has been known for being one of the best practices for emergency services. Now we will be known for the most convenient appointment scheduling. We are excited about Hurst’s hiring because it will allow us to accept new and welcome back old patients.”
Hurst's professional skills and clinical experience include scaling and root planning, perio maintenance, sealant application, intraoral camera, air polishing, full mouth series of x-rays, panoramic x-rays, fluoride application, scheduling appropriate re-care intervals, patient education, and health care instruction.
Laser treatment, local anesthesia, nitrous oxide administration, CPR and First Aid are only a few professional skills she possessed. The list is very long.
