LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman recently made a statement regarding the frequency of construction accidents throughout the U.S. after a Texas man was injured when he fell 30 feet from an apartment roof. Moverman stressed that these incidents happen all too frequently and that in many cases, these workers are not fortunate enough to live through the fall.

The Texas man fell as he was working at a construction site at Gateway Boulevard. He fell 30 feet and at approximately 15 feet, the safety rope snapped and he fell the rest of the way to the ground, reported inforney.com. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was said to suffer from non-life threatening injuries.

Construction workers are at a constant risk of being injured on the job. Among the most frequent causes of injury are falls from ladders, slips, trips and falls and scaffolding accidents.

Nine hundred and thirty-three construction-related accidents in the U.S resulted in a fatality in 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Since 2011, that number has steadily increased. In non-fatal incidents, common injuries have included fractured or broken bones, spinal injuries and brain injuries.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman believes that victims of construction accidents are entitled to the representation and compensation they deserve. The firm has been representing victims of construction accidents for a combined 80 years and, in that time, has helped win over $500 million in settlements. Attorney Moverman has even represented one victim who was awarded $2.6 million after injuring his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding. The firm is currently offering free consultations to parties who have been injured in a construction accident. Qualifying individuals may be entitled substantial financial compensation.
