Atlanta, GA-based Choice Men’s Health recently published an article on Erectile Dysfunction (ED) that aims to educate their community on this condition and its treatments. The men's health clinic hopes that this article will give men the insight and encouragement they need to seek professional help. The full post can be found at the following link: https://www.choicemenshealth.com/what-age-does-ed-start/.

Choice Men’s Health explains that many men wonder at what age they might start to experience Erectile Dysfunction. The simple answer to this, they say, is that there is no strictly defined age at which ED is more likely to happen. While the prevalence of ED is known to increase with age — and typically affects men over the age of 40 — it can happen to a man of any age. There are a variety of factors that contribute to an impairment in sexual performance, and several complex physiological and psychological processes have to work together in order for an erection to take place.

As a result, certain medical conditions (such as those involving blood pressure, depression, and others) can increase the likelihood of an individual experiencing Erectile Dysfunction. Choice Men’s Health points out that older men are more likely to have ED simply because many health issues naturally occur as a result of aging as well, including those that affect blood flow to the penis and nerve function.

The article cites a study that looked at more than 2,700 men to illustrate this, explaining that around 52% of men aged 40-70 have experienced ED, 17% of men age 40-49 had ED, 30%–35% of men age 50–59 had ED, 68% of men 60–69 had ED and 83% of men 70 and older had ED.

The men's clinic explains that men may consider whether they have certain health conditions and risk factors associated with age in order to estimate whether this could be contributing to their Erectile Dysfunction. Some examples include heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, anxiety, and depression.

However, it should be noted that Erectile Dysfunction can also be a side effect of some medications, such as antidepressants or blood pressure drugs. This is why Choice Men's Health recommends that patients inform their healthcare providers of all the medications they are taking if they experience ED. Depending on the patient’s needs, a provider may elect to adjust their dosage or substitute another medication altogether.

The clinic states that it is normal for men to have conflicting emotions regarding their Erectile Dysfunction, but this should not stop them from seeking treatment when necessary. Given that the problems caused by ED can extend beyond their sexual performance, impacting their self-confidence and mental health in otherwise unrelated aspects of their life, it is highly recommended that they consult with a specialist in the field as soon as possible. Once a suitable treatment is found for their ED, the patient can begin returning to an active and healthy sex life. At Choice Men’s Health, patients receive personalized ED treatments and guidance they need to achieve this.

As one 5-Star review states, “Good experience over all. I’ve had ED for over 10 years, and they resolved my issue in one hour! What a great way to start this new year! Office was nice and clean, and I didn't have to wait long. So excited to have this part of my life back!”

Another reviewer elaborates on the patient experience and how discrete the clinic can be regarding personal information. The review explains, “First and foremost, these guys will make you feel at home. ED is very very embarrassing, it makes you feel like you are not a man. The treatment I got here was incredible, and the staff was reassuring and very understanding.”

Choice Men’s Health believes it is important to develop a personal and effective ED treatment for their patients. Those who wish to discuss this further with a specialist are welcome to contact Choice Men's Health to get started. More information on ED and the various services offered by the clinic can be found on their official website.
