Search Func Accelerator Boston Announces 2019 Cohort of Searchers

(Boston, Massachusetts, August 29, 2019) At the beginning of August, Search Fund Accelerator welcomed its fifth annual cohort of searchers, chosen from a large pool of highly qualified candidates. The group features graduates from the nation’s top MBA programs with expertise extending from operations to consulting to entrepreneurship. The five new members are currently participating in a three-week Bootcamp that will accelerate their search by at least six months compared to the timeline of traditional and self-funded searchers.

Bootcamp is facilitated by Timothy Bovard and Jeremy Silverman with the support of our seven full-time staff, eight current searchers, along with guest speakers ranging from SFA’s CEOs to investors to specialized coaches. Each day involves a full schedule of interactive and informative workshops that cover the essentials of Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition such as branding, thinking like an investor, using CRM and proprietary search tools, and more. Additionally, the final week of Bootcamp involves comprehensive training for the new analysts to ensure that when they begin working with their searcher they are fully prepared to help them launch their search process quickly and efficiently. By September, each searcher-analyst team is entirely operational and benefits from unlimited guidance from the SFA staff.

Throughout Bootcamp, SFA builds strong relationships among and with the searchers by working together, sharing meals, meeting the searchers' families, and sharing other activities chosen for creating bonds. SFA emphasizes trust and bonding during the training because they view their relationship with each new searcher as one that will span the next ten years and beyond. Their philosophy is that at the core of every strong partnership is genuine trust. While searching can often feel tedious and frustrating, by fostering meaningful connections to and amongst their cohorts starting on the first day of Bootcamp, SFA invests in creating a unique community that offers support.
