The Maritime Alliance announces "The Evolution of Search and Rescue in the Maritime World" as part of their Executive Talk series.

Those attending the talk will understand how the maritime industry can incorporate various Search and Rescue technologies into their applications, processes and workflows to save lives. Every year, on the world's oceans, seas and waterways nearly 400,000 lives are lost due to drowning each year.  Additionally, 24,000 fishermen die annually, 3,000 people die in migrant accidents every year, and 17,000 people lost their lives in ferry accidents in a period from 2000-2014.

Jonas Olson will share his wealth of experience from the McMurdo Group, a world leader in the design and manufacture of emergency beacons, Tracking and Monitoring solutions, and Navigation Infrastructure systems;  from Boatracs;  from On-Ramp Wireless; and from his experience in aviation safety and satellite communications. Jonas has an MSc in Business Administration and Computer Science from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and has served as an assistant lecturer in Information Economics at its graduate school.

Michael Jones, president of The Maritime Alliance, said that “As part of being the signatory to the first international coalition of maritime technology clusters, we have a responsibility to help make a difference through sharing the vital knowledge from these executive talks.”

The talk, on Monday, June 22, 2015 will take place from 3:30 – 5:00 PM at the Maritime Alliance Foundation Offices, 2877 Historic Decatur, San Diego, CA 92109.
